These lovely small plants flower from January throughout early Spring. Their delicate flowers come in white, through pink to deep pink/purple. They are small plants (about 4 cm high) so are great for the front of a border.
They like partial to full shade and are great planted under deciduous trees and shrubs where they have humus rich soil. They look particularly good mixed with snowdrops. They grow from tubers but will happily self-seed.
Cyclamen have attractive dark green leaves which marked with silvery and white lines.
They are hardy perennials that die down in Summer. As leaves die down mulch with leafmould so tubers don’t completely dry out over the summer
Don’t plant them too deeply or they may not flower.
