
Also known as Purple Top or Argentinian vervain this is a great plant for adding height to a border without being bulky. Purple flowers on top of distinctive square stems that last all summer. Loved by bees and other pollinators.
Once established will self-seed. Likes a sunny spot that is well-drained and either West or South facing. They will grow to about 1.5-2m high and 0.5m wide. They don’t like wet ground especially in Winter. In Spring, as the new growth emerges from the base, cut down the old growth to about 4cm. Drought tolerant.
